These charts shows the weekly deaths for USA and its states over time. This allows to monitor the mortality for the US and each state closely over time.

The baseline is calculated as average of 2015-2019, adjusted for age and population changes and smoothed using a Gauss window function. The Normal range is +/- two standard deviations and the substanital increase threshold is four standard deviations above the baseline.

Note: Using CDC's predicted deaths. Up to eight weeks might be additionally corrected for reporting delay based on last eight weeks of reporting. The blue dashed line shows the prediction and the light blue area shows the 95% prediction interval. State level data might be incomplete for some weeks. Any counts fewer than 10 are suppressed for confidentiality reasons by CDC.
