Mortality is deaths per 100,000 residents. Deaths numbers are from CDC and yearly population data is from US Census Bureau. The baseline is calculated as the pre-pandemic average of 2015-2019 adjusted for the linear trend (linear regression). The figures, are not suitable for comparison between states, as they do not normalize for differences in age structure.
